We are pleased to introduce ENCORE, a new magazine that celebrates Niagara College, our people and our accomplishments. This exciting new publication for the College community replaces the previous InTouch newsletter and NCompass alumni publications.
Published twice a year, ENCORE tells our story. The premier issue chronicles the excitement and change of the past year - our tremendous growth, our major building projects and investments in learning, our new brand, historic visits by the Prime Minister and The Prince of Wales as well as profiles of some of the people that make Niagara College such a special place.
About 65 attendees had the opportunity to network with community leaders, Niagara College alumni, staff, faculty, and fellow graduate program students at our inaugural GradSmart event. The highlight of the evening was the informative comments from guest speaker, Blair Pollard, Vice President, Organization Development for Canadian Tire Corporation Ltd. in Toronto and secretary of the Niagara College Foundation Board of Directors.
Blair spoke about what employers are looking for when hiring. GradSmart is an initiative of Alumni Relations designed to support graduating students with early career success.
Join us at Jack Astors on Wednesday, March 24 at 6 p.m.
A group of graduating students will be taking a bus to Toronto on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 to attend the National Job Fair & Training Expo at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This excursion, as part of our GradSmart program, is designed to help graduating students successfully transition to the next stage of their lives.
We are extending an invitation to Toronto alumni to join us for some appetizers at an informal gathering in a private meeting room at Jack Astors, 133 John Street after 6 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to network with other Toronto based alumni and enrich the learning experience for the attending graduating students by provide insights about life and work in Toronto. Niagara Group Mortgage Program has graciously provided funding to support this event.
If you are interested in attending this event, please email Elise Auger at eauger@niagaracollege.ca or Steve Cino at scino@niagaracollege.ca by Wednesday, March 17 to confirm your attendance.
Each year, the Graduate Program Event Management students organized several novel and entertaining fundraising events, with proceeds directed toward their Many Hands Community Project.
Alumni are encouraged to review the calendar, gather some friends, come out to enjoy an event while supporting a great cause.
