From classroom, to labs, to on the job ride outs, Niagara College Paramedic Program gave us the theoretical and practical training to be successful as a Primary Care Paramedic. Upon graduating from Niagara College I was able to obtain a job as a Primary Care Paramedic with Niagara EMS. With my Primary Care Paramedic diploma, I was able to go back to school and be successful at the Advanced Care Paramedic Program.
I was fortunate enough to have my brother and sister attend Niagara College in the Paramedic Program and they were able to give me a first-hand account of life at Niagara College. My time at Niagara College was spent with instructors who had years of experience in the paramedic field, lab time where I could practice the skills I learned, extra help/material if needed and the opportunity to be placed with an EMS service where it was all brought together in real life. Niagara College made me more than prepared for the “real world” and taught me what I needed to get hired as a paramedic after graduating. I recommend Niagara College to anyone looking to make a positive change in their life.
After graduating from this program in the top five per cent of her class, Tina Monchalin went on to complete her Advanced Care Paramedic training and Flight Medic training. She currently works as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) for Niagara Emergency Medical Service and as an ACP flight medic in Toronto.
