Program Highlights

Niagara College recognizes the difficulties many newcomers face upon arrival to Canada. We want to help you make the right choices on your road to success, so we offer a wide range of programs and services that will help you find the work and education that is right for you.

Full-time program features include:
  • Enhanced English language training developed specifically for a transition to the workplace.
  • Two semesters of study, including advanced English training with Canadian workplace preparation courses leading to a General Arts and Science certificate.
  • Canadian culture and workplace studies, with access to academic support from English language instructors.
  • Upon graduation, four months of employment support and job search assistance.
Part-time program features include:
  • Enhanced English language training developed specifically for a transition to the workplace.
  • One semester of study, including three language courses.
  • Flexible evening and weekend class option.

Important:

  • You must be a permanent resident of Canada or a convention refugee to participate in this program.

The ELTE program helped me improve my English language, grammar and writing. The program helped me connect with employment in assessing my knowledge and skills and building a bridge to employment. A lot of opportunities were there to use in my search for employment. … Because of the program I have a full time job as a counselor in one of the great non-profit organisations in Ontario.
